GameSpot launched in May 1996, with the goal of becoming the world's best online information resource for PC gaming enthusiasts. GameSpot began as a small start-up company founded by Pete Deemer, Vince Broady, and Jon Epstein, who had all worked together at IDG's Multimedia World Magazine.
